Itโs been almost two weeks since Hurricane Sandy showed us once again the power and devastation that nature is capable of. ย The largest Atlantic Hurricane on record and it seems like these events are happening more often in recent years.ย Record breaking Tsunamiโs, Earthquakes, Tornadoโs, Hurricanes and Wild Fires just in the last year and a half.ย ย Throughout these incidents stories of heroics and communities coming together start to surface and with the Social Media at our finger tips itโs hard to miss.ย With the number of lives lost, homes and businesses destroyed and still today almost 230,000 without power, even more people will be coming together to help each other and start to rebuild again.ย In talking with friends and family, seeing news footage and following friendโs posts on Facebook, only one thing really comes to mind for me; Things Iโm grateful for and appreciate that should never be taken for granted.ย Iโm not assuming that anybody takes the roof over their head for granted but I know when I pull into my driveway every day, I donโt always look up and acknowledge that I have a home full of electricity, seemingly endless water access (both hot and cold) and love.ย With Thanksgiving right around the corner itโs fitting to get a head start on what we have to be Thankful for. ย Take a minute today and write down a few things you are grateful for and appreciate in your life. Keep those in mind as we go into the weekend.ย This is a practice you can do first thing in the morning or before you go to bed every night.ย It helps us to step outside of our busy minds, focus on something positive and acknowledge what we have in our lives to appreciate.
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone recovering on the East Coast.
Wishing all of you a very Healthy and Happy Thanksgiving!
